Apache 360

Apache 360

It came in low out of the pre-dawn sky and descended on the line-up amidst the first rays of the rising sun….with the heart of an Indian warrior, the Apache has arrived. This fiery tomahawk is like no other and is designed to decimate, to lacerate and relentlessly throttle through lips and around sections. There will be no scalps taken today though, as the Apache comes to bring peace through a contented line-up.
Apache HD
Where the glide of ‘free-friction’ meets the concentrated turning radius of ultimate gougeability; a marriage of perfectly complementing design concepts. A speeding summertime board, that still surfs ultra dynamic in the steep zones. The HD rocker and bottom applied to this model breathes in a whole new life. You might say it took a little trip around the sun and learned the roles gravitational pull has on the way waves break; and found itself a rocker and hull contours that work with those principles to find new sources of energy in key areas of the wave where the water is surging fastest.
Rocker and hull contours is where the true personality lies…some insight as to mine: not very flat, in fact a lot of bend between the feet; but a continuous bend nonetheless so the water speeds around the corners like a straight line from nose to tail. Accompanied by deep deep accelerating concaves to about 1/2″ deep through the fins / with inset bonzer-Esque double running through fin cluster. And concave straight off the tail.
[raw_html_snippet id=”apachejet-wide-360-hype”]
concave deck at an additional $150
less paddle power, but that amazing “in the wave” feel
channels at an additional $150
It has also been set-up to ride as either a quad or thruster…..keeping your fin options open. In a nutshell…..it’s more versatile, faster and looser; skates though the flats quicker, and surfs tighter and more responsive in the pocket than ever before.
5 fin install – ride as quad/thruster

Way back in 1991 – ‘92 I was so impacted by living in J-bay and seeing Tom Curren surf that wave for his first time on a Maurice Cole reverse vee design – that I decided to revisit that hull concept with my own twist these many years later. It has opened up a whole new frontier of dynamic water flow and drivey single-stage bottom turns and on-rail power surfing. This video breaks down the first exploration into this design realm with the Falcon 2 and Falcon 3 designs…which have since blossomed into and birthed the more recent iterations of the #procco2030surfboard the #Supernaturalsurfboard and the #supernatural2030surfboard designs. (board design breakdown videos coming soon on each of those). Go visit the link in bio for a story I wrote that conveys that personal experience of living in Africa; how that time influenced me as a shaper. And how those experiences relate to you and the crafts that transport us to new places on waves. Always love hearing your feedback. It’s what the custom experience is all about. Together, pushing forward the envelope of what is possible for each of us personally and uniquely as we design each board…one day at a time, one surfer at a time, one board at a time.

@p_fly hunts slabs with religious zeal. And when the Oxnard loc decides to dwell in caverns abroad, he seeks out the houses of the holy…the deep places of earth that God has made for those that seek shelter from the storm. Secret spot. 5’10” x 18 5/8” x 2 3/8” #Holyrollersurfboard …a shorter, stubbier, fuller nose, thicker down the stringer, more tapered at the rail, slab board that acts like a step-up paddle-wise, but gets under the hood and hovers deep on the foam ball for max time in the cathedral.

Ventura had a good run of swell lately, albeit pretty walled, but if you timed the conditions right there were some windows of perfection. Here’s my friend Jake in the right place at the right time. I remember taking Jake’s dad, JP, on an 18 hour junket to a secret slab in Baja when he was 15 to score empty barrels. Now JP has a whole tribe of kids of his own and they’re a full on surfing family…even their dog Chewy rushes the local beachbreak. Well done crew!! 6’2” x 18 7/8” x 2 9/16” #flyinlionsurfboard slight step-up

A time for Thanksgiving. God windows. Miracles. And a new lease on life. This year brought surprises. ICU. Blood clot in my brain. Every breath was simply “I am yours God. My life is in Your hands.” And here I am. And here we are. This family. I get to stay and raise our daughter with my wild lion. Todd took us to Mammoth a couple weeks ago to visit the places his Dad took him as a kid. He taught Indie and I how to fish. We caught a rainbow trout and cooked it up in our cabin within 20 minutes of exiting the lake. There was almost nobody around and we hiked and fished on the lake and literally went hours without seeing a soul. We met new friends, skipped rocks, walked fallen tree trunks, cracked ice, explored, gazed at fish circling our lines, crackled through fall leaves, sat by the fire in our cabin, played games, drank hot cocoa, collected small aromatic pine needle bundles, watched chipmunks dig for and find acorns then show them off to us, and deers graze past us. It was a little glimmer of what God has in mind for eternity. Perfect peace, perfect rest, perfect love and so much genuine joy. Our pine needle bundles are still releasing their fragrance in our kitchen and reminding us that miracles will happen. Reminding us to believe all things, hope all things and endure all things, because Love never fails. Thank you Jesus.
