The board felt amazing and riding a Poly shortboard for the first time in over 10 years was an experience

Hey Todd and Charissa,

I wanted to give y’all an update and let you know that I finally got to surf my 6’2 Shalomic Intervention this past Tuesday. It was waist to chest with a head high set and the wind was blowing 20-30mph offshore, windchill in the low 40’s but the water was still 60 degrees. I had to wear a hood and it was the first time in boots since last April. My first wave on it was a head high left where I was able to get a frontside wrap in .

The board felt amazing and riding a Poly shortboard for the first time in over 10 years was an experience. Todd was right, the Poly’s do way better in the heavy offshore wind. I was about over the session but connected a little left and went back out. I got another left and got a quick barrel so that got my stoke back up. Next wave was a solid left that I was able to whip up into the pocket and the thing just threw out, the board held and drove through the barrel and I got a nice dry barrel until it shut down on me at the end. I cannot wait to surf the board in solid Outer Banks surf! It was nice to be able to test it out in those conditions though.

That being said, I think that I want to order another poly in maybe the Ghost, Greased Pig, or Monsta outline in like a 5’11 or 6’0 round/rounded thumb tail for when the waves are in that chest highish range, steep, and it is blowing hard offshore. I would like to get Todd’s feedback on this since I know he has been working on some new shapes. The Apache and the Flying Monsta are going insane but I feel like I may need another Poly for those windy/bumpy days when there is still decent swell coming in. Let me know what y’all think and we can get another one going! As always thank you so much for the amazing boards and helping keep the stoke alive!

Cheers,
