Speed and drive out of the turns is easily 20% faster than similar boards I’ve owned

Hope you and Todd are doing well. I wanted to pass on feedback on the 7’0 Monsta Chief, now that I had the chance to test it in different waves. So here are my thoughts:

  • Construction is impeccable as usual. It is light, sturdy, flexible and looks great. I very much appreciated how well it paddles, specially how quickly it goes to get into waves.
  • Performance-wise, I think the best way to describe it is superb balance. Speed and drive out of the turns is easily 20% faster than similar boards I’ve owned. Responsiveness is great, specially in the sense that I feel absolute control over holding the turn or letting the fins loose, without much effort actually. Off-the-top turns going backside have never felt so sweet.
  • One piece of advice for other surfers, is to pay attention to fin selection. This board’s performance varies incredibly when you change the fins. To me, fins designed for speed generation tend to work better in the waves I usually surf, but more controlled-geared fins are a must in bigger / punchier waves.

Thanks again for the great product and service. Hopefully I will be able to send you some pictures soon.
