My only regret is that I didn’t come to you two decades ago

I want to thank you and Todd.

My only regret is that I didn’t come to you two decades ago.

Over the last two decades, I have spent nearly 10,000 on surfboards. with 5 custom shaped during that time.
I have had no progression in my surfing since the late 90’s when my desk jobs caused me to “outgrow” my stewart surfboard.

With my MonstaChief, I finally feel like I have been surfing for 30 years.
I have tons of speed, and the board turns on a dime. Within 30 days, I have went from barely making drops and never having enough speed to make a section on my old board, to round house wraparounds, and my first attempt at an Air.

Last week, I actually had kids at barbwires (just north of Upper Trestles) applauding my surfing.
The same day, a surfer in his 60’s commented “I can’t believe how fast you were going, I thought there was no way you were going to make that section”

The only issues I have is that I am not used to the acceleration or the turning radius. My first real wave after getting the board, I went to do a bottom turn and put as much effort as I used to do on the 5″11 board I was previously riding. Instead of the long drawn out bottom turn, the board literally immediately turned 90 degrees, and I was promptly thrown off the side board. I still have a problem with the acceleration, I will occasionally drop in, start the bottom turn, the board shoots forward and I am thrown off the back.
None of these are issues with the board. They are all due to the decades I have been trying to make due on inferior board designs.

This board has stopped me from quitting surfing.  This was my last shot. If I was still struggling to surf after getting this board, I was literally going to quit surfing.

I had been blaming my boards, and knew that this board was going to be made exactly they way it should, and if it didn’t work, it was not the board that was the problem.

Again, thank you.
