The best way to describe the feeling is that the board feels like an extension of my feet and body. Or better yet, the board simply has soul. I love how stepping on the tail is like stepping on the gas, it just moves when I tap it.

just wanted to shoot out a huge thanks for Da Monsta, and praise Todd’s handiwork, craft- and artisanship. It took a little while for Da Monsta and me to fully click. In fact, so much that I stayed off her when the waves turned on. But I was determined, as I knew Todd was the real deal. It couldn’t have been the board but the way we were working together.
And one day, everything fell into place. The best way to describe the feeling is that the board feels like an extension of my feet and body. Or better yet, the board simply has soul. I love how stepping on the tail is like stepping on the gas, it just moves when I tap it. When I look somewhere, that’s where we go.
I can lay into rail, too, with full confidence I’m not going to dig in too deep. I can say in the past week I’ve done the best surfing I’ve ever done on Da Monsta.
I actually braved the crowd at Lowers, and got into plenty among a few pros who were out there—I think I may actually have had a higher wave count than ____ before I caught rights all the way back to Church. Thanks again. Amazing work.
