Here’s a one-off design I put together with Max from Santa Monica.
Max wanted to develop a pool board specifically for the wave at the Kelly pool.
One that could go faster just ahead of the pace of the wave there, and hold longer rail arcs with speed especially off the bottom and be able to also draw out turns without losing speed or getting left behind; to bring some ocean style arcs to the pool rather than having to resort to lip taps.
So we went with the tail outline of the #zipstitchsurfboard with the rocker of the #monstroscillous the concaves of the #hideoscillous
added a fuller nose outline to create a more parallel plan shape profile for crazy drive, then pinched the rails for knife-like sensitivity. It looks like I’ll be doing more of these, so does anybody have any ideas for what we should call it?
“Todd. The Zipstitch was the best board I’ve ridden in the pool so far. So much speed with the control I was looking for. It allowed me to surpass the speed of the wave and try some new lines. Used the power brokers the whole time. I loved how it had so much speed and surety that I didn’t need to double pump my bottom turns. Big thanks for making this all happen Todd! Grateful to you and the whole team, stoked to be working together. Can’t wait to spend more time on the zipstitch in the ocean 🚀🚀🚀”
